Did you know that bicycle taxidermy is a thing? Tsuga customer Katie Ferguson brought us the bicycle fork below (the part of the frame that holds the front wheel), which has sentimental value for her. We worked with Katie to create this unique piece to her specifications.
Katie has been a bicycle commuter for 15 years. When she was struck by a car while riding several years ago, the front fork of her bike was destroyed. She took the opportunity to further customize her brushed titanium bike with a new pink fork, made for her by a Seattle bike frame builder. Over the years, that original pink fork has been replaced, but combined with the wings she fashioned to add to her bike helmet, it makes a terrific and distinctive art piece and conversation starter!
“This represents the beautiful freedom and joy I find in cycling,” Katie explains. “Biking, to me, is the closest thing to flying.”
We've framed quite a few unique items over the years ... From sports jerseys to ceramic tiles, golf clubs to pocket knives, the possibilities are endless. Bring us your special project for a free quote!
