Local artist Margaret Shapiro is a native of Namibia, and lived in South Africa before immigrating to the USA in 1981.
Margaret takes her inspiration from the natural world and ethnic designs, with a liberal use of color and decorative pattern. She employs the potter’s wheel as well as hand-building to create her unique pieces that work equally well for decorative and functional use.
