Linocut Block Printing

“Losing myself in my art in a healthy way is one of my greatest gifts. Whether it's a lockdown from a global pandemic, or because my profoundly autistic adult son is with me almost 24/7, my ability to get lost in my art has definitely saved my soul.

In my most recent work, I am using the technique often referred to as "jigsaw puzzle linocuts". In this method, after I carve my design into the linoleum block, I cut the block up like a jigsaw puzzle. Each piece is inked up individually, then put back together before pulling the print. This technique can be more challenging than some other methods.

In addition to the jigsaw linocuts, I've been working on more detailed architectural-themed linocuts as well. Since life has been more challenging, it seems fitting!.”
