Landscapes in Watercolor: The Atmospheric Veil

“I am inspired to paint the atmosphere of the landscape, the soft veil between me and what I see, similar to the dream veil of my figure paintings. I am traveling through the veil of emotions between landscape and people, envisioning our journey through time and telling the story in painting."

– Beth Kehoe

Figure Paintings in Oil:

"I create life-size oil paintings of the human in wilderness. My work uses color, intuition and gestural strokes of the paintbrush as a direct interpretation of my own experiences backpacking through the wilderness. I try to portray how the familiar structure of time and spatial relationships are skewed, flattened and expanded when traveling in the silence of the wilderness.

The physical presence and detail in my paintings are influenced by my career as a collected ceramicist. The aim of my paintings is to entice the viewer with works that are direct and beautiful, disturbing and quiet."
