Come meet well-known watercolor artist Kathy Collins. You'll enjoy seeing her demonstrate her her trademark impressionistic style as she creates a landscape painting while you watch Saturday, March 11, from 2 - 4pm. Kathy's watercolor landscapes and collages are on display at Tsuga through March 17.

Dust off your beatnik glasses, practice your finger snapping and trim that goatee - you're invited to the ongoing Poetry Night series at the gallery (the second Saturday of every month). Chill to the smooth verbal rhythms of local poets, and bring your own poems if you've got them to join us on the open mic! The evening features light refreshments, great art and excellent company.

See award-winning local artist Brooke Borcherding's dynamic new paintings deconstructing the landscape to shed light on the beauty of ordered chaos. She creates engaging visual scenes that take you deep into space and dance between the real and inevitable unreal of paint on canvas.

Tsuga hosts the art of protest – catch this one-week "flash" show before it moves on to Cascadia College in Bothell, Mobius Hall Gallery, April 15 – May 1.

Watercolor Classes with
Kathy Collins

Learn a big-brush technique for dramatic, high-contrast paintings! Students from beginning to more advanced paint in a variety of genres, including figurative, landscape, seascape and more. The upcoming four-week session starts March 9, and meets Thursdays, 10am-noon. $135. To register, email Kathy.

Fun With Watercolor for Kids
Local painter Howard Frank offers
two series of four Saturday-morning classes for kids who would like to build their artistic abilities with watercolor. Session One (March 11 – April 1) and Session Two (April 15 – May 6) classes run from 10am - noon; cost is $95 for a four-class session or $25 for a single class. Beginning Drawing & Botanical Drawing
Local artist Susan Jones presents
two series of six classes each, for adults who wish to develop their graphite drawing skills. We meet on Sundays; Botanical Drawing from 10am - noon, and Beginning Drawing from 1pm - 3pm. Cost is $195 per class series. Classes start March 26 - to register, email Susan.
