New Geometry: The Art of Mari Shibuya and Cynthia Wessling, presents the talent and dynamic vision of these emerging local artists in their unique, compelling visual creations.
Fine artist Cynthia Wessling also studies with the Kang-O’Higgins Atelier at Gage Academy of Art in Seattle. She specializes in narrative abstract paintings, striving to explore people and the connections and relationships that comprise our world: one person to another, people linked together by a time or place, people within their environment, and the unique events and experiences that shape a lifetime.
Figurative painter Mari Shibuya combines realism with abstraction and geometry. A graduate of the the Kang-O'Higgins Atelier at Gage Academy of Art, Mari is motivated by the desire to explore the imaginal world that imprints physical matter and the intrinsic patterns that exist within all levels of Life. She feels that the power of art lies in the intention that is laced into the work throughout the whole creative process.
