Artistic Travel Journaling With Michelle Waldele


An illustrated journal can become a treasured keepsake of captured moments from your adventures seeing the world! During the workshop there will be an introduction to sketching and watercolor painting specifically for quick visual note taking. You’ll also get a lesson in pictorial perspective to help you capture that rustic old barn or quaint seaside cottage. Using the supplies on the list we’ll practice how to pack for lightweight efficiency and ease of use.

  • Watercolor travel set, Winsor & Newton half-pan set
  • Stillman & Birn Zeta Softcover Sketchbook, Heavyweight paper
  • Mechanical pencil
  • Micron black pen
  • Gelly Roll white gel pen
  • 6" ruler
Watercolor brushes:

Michelle Waldele is a passionate painter in the classical realist tradition. People, places and things she feels a strong connection to become subjects for her paintings.

Michelle is an alumnus of the prestigious Gage Academy of Art in Seattle, Washington. Prior to attending Gage, she graduated from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks with a Bachelors of Fine Arts, major in drawing and minor in metalsmithing.
